EKSU VC distances self from Facebook accounts, transactions

The Vice Chancellor, Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Professor Babatola Ayodele has called on the general public to disregard a Facebook account created by fraudsters to transact business with innocent Nigerians in his name.

The Vice-Chancellor warned the public to be wary of such fraudulent acts.

In a statement made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti by the Head, the Directorate of Information and Corporate Affairs of the university, Bode Olofinmuagun, said, ”It has come to the notice of the Vice Chancellor, Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Professor Babatola Ayodele that somebody has opened a Facebook account using his name and picture to interact with unsuspecting individuals. The fraudster has been engaging people to interact with him under the guise of business transactions.

”We wish to emphasize that the EKSU Vice-Chancellor is not in any way involved in the new Facebook account and will not stoop so low to transact business with anyone on Facebook since the university has its own procedure.

”As such, members of the public should be careful and wary of such fraudsters having the intent of duping unsuspecting members of the public.

”Members of the public are hereby advised to disregard and refrain from transacting any business whatsoever on social media under the guise of engaging Professor Babatola Ayodele.”
