The Egbe Omo Yoruba of Greater Miami Valley in the USA is delighted to announce the commencement of the 2023-2024 Scholarship Awards for students enrolled in Nigerian Universities and Polytechnics.
With a commitment to supporting education and empowering the youth, the organization aims to provide financial assistance to deserving students.
The Egbe Omo Yoruba Scholarship, established in 1993, reflects the organization’s dedication to the educational advancement of Nigerian students.
The scholarship is open for applications, and deserving students will be selected as awardees.
Each recipient will be granted the Naira equivalent of $250 US dollars at the time of the award.

Requirements
To be eligible for the undergraduate and postgraduate Egbe Omo Yoruba Scholarship, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
- Attend an accredited University/Polytechnic in Nigeria.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 or 3.75/5.0 on the grading scale.
- Provide essential information, including:
- Name of the University/Polytechnic
- City & State of the institution
- Full Name as per University/Polytechnic records
- Transcript as proof of educational performance, specifying Major, Year Level, and Cumulative GPA.
- Demonstrate financial need through a well-articulated written statement (short essay) submitted with the application.
- Submit a letter of recommendation from an academic staff member familiar with the student’s performance and character.
The Egbe Omo Yoruba Scholarship employs a comprehensive selection process to ensure deserving students receive the support they need:
- Initial Application Review: All submitted applications and supporting documents will undergo a thorough review.
- Zoom Interviews: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for virtual interviews via Zoom conducted by the scholarship committee.
- Final Selection: The scholarship committee will make the final selection based on the candidates’ academic achievements, financial need, and recommendations.
