The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has issued a warning to skit makers who use the Commission’s official paraphernalia without permission.
This comes after an old video titled ‘EFCC and Army Wahala’ started making the rounds again on social media.
In a statement on its official X handle on Monday, the anti-graft agency expressed deep concerns over how their operatives are represented in skits.
The statement reads in part, “This, once again, compels the EFCC to reiterate its warning to skit makers and other social workers to desist from using the operational accouterments of the commission illegally and irresponsibly.”
The Commission described the video as a “caricature” of its actual etiquettes.
The anti-graft agency further decried the manner in which its operatives are portrayed as bullies, which it said is far from the truth.
“Operatives of the EFCC are not bullies. They are trained as refined modern law enforcement officers rich in decency, civility, and respect for members of the public, including suspects of economic and financial crimes,” the statement added.
