Ebonyi LG boss, Odono vows to combat insecurity, warns hoodlums to stay away

The Council Chairman of Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Mr. Ikechukwu Odono has vowed to combat all forms of attacks, insecurity and threat to lives of the people of the council to the barest minimum.

Odono warned hoodlums who invade communities in Ohaukwu to destroy properties worth millions to desist or face the full wrath of the law.

The Chairman gave the warning on Thursday in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

He applauded the state Governor, Francis Nwifuru for his cooperation with the Chairmen of the 13 LGAs of the state, which he said enabled them, provide the dividend of democracy to the people at the grass roots in the state.

He said, “hoodlums have made Ohaukwu people not to feel at home but I assure you that the one they attacked on Sunday, where they burnt two vehicles that belonged to neighborhood watch commander, will by the grace of God, the last attack that will happen in Ohaukwu LGA.

He reiterated his preparedness to bring a lasting peace and order in all the communities in the councils.

“We will bring peace and order to the council, and that we will bring to an end all attacks on the people, so that our people will sleep with their two eyes closed.

In a swift reaction, the Commissioner of Capital City and Urban Development in the state, Mr. Sunday Inyima, said over 8 villages were captured by suspected terrorists but commended the council chairman for combating insecurity in Ohaukwu LGA, especially in Ukwagba community.
