Dreams of a Lad, And Today’s Reality By Kayode Ajulo

In the tender light of childhood’s grace,
I wove my dreams in a secret place,
Where laughter danced on the whispering breeze,
And hope sang sweetly among the trees.

With hands worn from toil, my parents stood tall,
Their love, a fortress, their sacrifices, a call.
I watched them rise with the dawn’s gentle light,
Their dreams intertwined with my heart’s pure flight.

I dreamed of a world where the lost would find peace,
Where the burdens of sorrow would finally cease.
To uplift the fallen, to defend the meek,
In the echoes of justice, my spirit would speak.

I envisioned my mother, her smile like the sun,
A car in the driveway, our journey begun.
A house filled with laughter, a sanctuary bright,
Where love would resound in the softest of nights.

“Ma’ami Ajulo,” I vowed with a tear,
To honor her legacy, to hold her near.
For she is the heart of my every endeavor,
A beacon of strength, my guiding forever.

Now standing in shadows of dreams I once cast,
I carry the weight of my hopes from the past.
Yet in every struggle, every challenge I face,
I feel her embrace in the world’s warm embrace.

To change her name is to celebrate more,
The love that she nurtured, the strength that she bore.
For in every triumph, in every small gain,
Lives the spirit of dreams, in joy and in pain.

So here’s to the journey, the mission I tread,
With each step I take, by her wisdom I’m led.
In the fabrics of a woven of laughter and tears,
I’ll honor her name through all of my years.

Happy Birthday Ma’ami❗️
