Warning: spoilers ahead for RuPaul’s Drag Race UK series 3 episode 1.

The queens of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK series 3 were full of awe as Victoria Scone made a powerful first entrance on the BBC Three show, hailing ‘history being made’.

When the cast of the new season of Drag Race UK was announced, fans were ecstatic to discover Victoria included in the line-up, becoming the first cis woman ever to take part in any competition in the Drag Race franchise.

Finally, tonight the moment arrived for Victoria to enter the Werk Room, doing so in the most grand, elegant and showstopping way possible.

Following the entrances of several other contestants, it was Victoria’s turn to stand in the doorway with her back to the camera, the queens gasping as they recognised her straight away.

As Victoria turned and entered the room, the queens continued to gasp, as one said: ‘Oh my god’ and another remarked: ‘This is a gag.’

Victoria was dressed to the nines for her Drag Race debut, wearing a stunning burgundy gown with feathered sleeves, a high-thigh split, a matching headdress and her wig styled in perfectly coiffed curls.

As she arrived on her mark, she said: ‘Hell hath no fury like a woman sconned,’ laughing theatrically as the other queens in the room clapped and cheered.

‘This is history guys,’ one of them said, as another replied: ‘It is, it really is.’

The queens welcomed Victoria with open arms as she made her way to the group, as Ella Vaday said to her: ‘Babes! What an icon.’

Having processed the monumental inclusion of Victoria in the competition, the group asked her to share what she’s all about.

‘Well I’m a camp queen dear,’ she responded, as the Cardiff queen explained in a VT how she was inspired to become a drag queen after watching the dames in pantomimes, who she wished to emulate.

‘History is being made!’ Kitty exclaimed, as they all clapped rapturously once again.

‘Cheers for me!’ Victoria said, before bursting into laughter.

While many people have been supportive of Victoria being in the competition, others have criticised her inclusion, with some trolls sending her cruel messages online.

During a recent interview with Metro.co.uk, Drag Race UK series two winner Lawrence Chaney spoke out about the trolls targeting her friend Victoria, stating that they should ‘admit they’re misogynists’.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK returns next Thursday at 7pm on BBC Three.
