In a significant announcement, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has revealed a reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, to N825 per litre, down from N890.00. This price adjustment is effective from February 27, 2025, and aims to provide essential relief to Nigerians in anticipation of the upcoming Ramadan season.

The reduction aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic recovery policy, which seeks to alleviate the financial burdens faced by the Nigerian populace. This latest price cut marks the second reduction of PMS in February 2025, following a previous decrease of N60.00 earlier in the month.

In addition to the price drop, the refinery has set new retail prices for various regions. At MRS Holdings stations, petrol will be sold for N860 per litre in Lagos, N870 in the South-West, N880 in the North, and N890 in the South-South and South-East. Similarly, Ardova Petroleum (AP) and Heyden stations will offer petrol at N865 in Lagos, N875 in the South-West, N885 in the North, and N895 in the South-South and South-East.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has assured the public of a consistent supply of petroleum products, emphasizing their commitment to meeting domestic demand and enhancing the country’s foreign exchange earnings through exports. The management has urged marketers to support this initiative, ensuring that Nigerians are the primary beneficiaries of these efforts.

This proactive measure by Dangote is expected to ease the cost of living for many Nigerians, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, when financial pressures often increase.
