.CVCNU Commends JAMB On Landmark Achievements

The Secretary-General of the Committee of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVCNU), Prof. Yakubu Ochefu, has lauded the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for its remarkable contributions to the educational development of the country. Prof. Ochefu gave the commendation during a visit to the Board’s National Headquarters, Bwari, Abuja, on Wednesday, 4th October, 2023, where he expressed admiration for the various accomplishments of the Board, which he described as the envy of many organisations. Prof. Ochefu also congratulated the Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, on his recognition and upcoming award of excellence by the committee. Speaking on the purpose of the visit, Prof. Ochefu stated that it was part of  the preparations for the holding of the CVCNU Diamond Jubilee Celebration and solicited the support of the Board toward the successful hosting of the various aspects of the event. He also disclosed that one of the highlights of the event was the unveiling of a report featuring insights from approximately 753 past Vice Chancellors, which is intended for publication. He also extended the invitation of the committe to the Registrar to participate in its upcoming “International Conference on Leadership and Gender” scheduled to take place at Baze University, Abuja. In his response, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, expressed gratitude to the delegation for the visit and described it as a homecoming and a family affair being a former Vice Chancellor himself. He reiterated the Board’s unwavering commitment to the advancement of education-related matters in Nigeria. Prof. Oloyede took the opportunity to express appreciation to the CVCNU for its mentorship of some staff of the Board, who are currently undergoing training at its Secretariat in Abuja. He assured the delegation of the Board’s commitment to the success and the attainment of the overall objectives of the upcoming event
