A Central Area Court sitting in Kasuwan Nama 1, Jos, Plateau State, on Thursday, dissolved the eight-year marriage between one Samira Makama and her husband, Muhammed Musa, over his inability to cater for his family.
A panel of judges made up of Malam Sadiq Adam and Mr Hyacenth Dolnanan, in granting the request made by Makama, said that all efforts to reconcile the parties had failed.
The judges ordered the petitioner and respondent to go their separate way.
The court, however, instructed that the respondent provided monthly upkeep for his children and pay their school fees.
Earlier, the wife pleaded with the court to dissolve their marriage, saying that her husband, who she has been married to for the last 8 years had failed to cater for her and their two children.
She told the court that her husband had initially divorced her twice according to Islamic rites and that he had also cut off her conjugal relationship.
She said that she was at the court to seek the dissolution of her marriage to the respondent.
