After an impressive debut campaign at Stamford Bridge, the 22-year-old continues to be Chelsea’s talisman this season with six goals and five assists in the Premier League so far.
However, Chelsea must navigate the first part of their European campaign without Palmer after he was not named in their squad.
Asked if he has concerns over his own fitness, Palmer told The Telegraph: ‘Not really.
‘The management’s decision was for the best, and I’m focused on keeping fit and ready for the next opportunities.’
Palmer was also asked if he could end his career at Chelsea having signed a nine-year deal with the club.
‘Absolutely. Chelsea feels like home to me, and I’m excited about what we can achieve together,’ Palmer said.
‘I’m fully committed to the club and its future.’
Speaking earlier this month about Chelsea’s decision to omit Palmer from their Europa Conference League squad, Enzo Maresca said: We played some games without Cole, but Cole is something extra that you need.
‘We also need to think a bit to protect some players. They need that. There is a reason behind it and I think Cole needs to be protected.’
