The Blues, who were looking to build on Sunday’s 3-2 win over Brighton, suffered a 2-1 loss at Old Trafford with Scott McTominay getting both goals for the hosts.
Chelsea remain 10th in the Premier League table after the result and are now 11 points off the top four in what has been a disappointing campaign thus far.
Speaking after the match, Chelsea defender Colwill hit out at VAR for two seperate incidents – one against Brighton and the other against United.
‘VAR has something against me right now, I don’t know what I’ve done to them,’ Colwill told the Chelsea website.
‘Against Brighton they tried to give a pen, and then when I got pulled [by McTominay] they didn’t give anything.
‘If I had pulled him like that they would have given a penalty. It is what it is.
‘It was a frustrating night. We had chances that if we’d taken would have made the game quite different, but it’s part of the game and we’ll move on from it come the weekend against Everton.’
Colwill has established himself in the Chelsea XI this season following an impressive loan at Brighton last term.
The 20-year-old Englishman has made 14 Premier League appearances this season and was handed the captain’s armband against United on Wednesday.
