Jorginho jokingly walked out of an interview after he was asked about his future at Chelsea, amid reports linking him with a move to Barcelona or Serie A.

The Italian midfielder is one of several Chelsea stars out of contract at the end of the season including N’Golo Kante and Thiago Silva.

On Tuesday, it was reported that Barcelona were closing in on a deal to sign Kante and Jorginho could follow him having been touted to move to the Camp Nou before.

He remains linked with the Catalan cub, as well as several Italian sides such as Juventus and Lazio.

The 31-year-old followed manager Maurizio Sarri from Napoli to west London in 2018 and remained a mainstay in the Blues’ side under Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel, winning the Champions League, Europa League and Club World Cup.

But with Graham Potter now in charge, much change is expected at Stamford Bridge but Jorginho has given as little away as possible about whether he’ll be staying or leaving.

In an interview with Sky Sports, he was asked about his future and he revealed he was in talks about signing a new deal, before simply saying: ‘It’s normal to speak about it [his future].’

He then abruptly started laughing and left the interview, adding: ‘You said that was the last question… so, ciao ciao!’

Back in November, Jorginho claimed he was very happy at Chelsea and had no plans to leave, telling The 5th Stand: ‘I’m enjoying life here. I’m enjoying working with everyone and I think everybody says the same thing. It’s enjoyable to be at Chelsea.’

His agent Joao Santos also added: ‘We want to extend the contract with Chelsea, it is our priority. We are only dealing with the Blues and no other club.’

Jorginho has remained very much in Chelsea’s first team this season, starting 10 out of Potter’s first 14 matches in charge of the club.

Despite winning the Euros last year, the midfielder was unable to help Italy qualify for the 2022 World Cup and as such he’s been training for the Premier League’s return on Boxing Day.

Chelsea host Bournemouth on December 27th and will be hoping to significantly improve their league position, with the side currently eighth in the table, eight points off the top four.
