An activist from Nigeria named Charly Boy has taken to social media to explain how former president Olusegun Obasanjo reportedly prevented 1.5 million Chadian residents from entering the country to vote in the upcoming 2023 presidential election.
Using his official Twitter account, the seasoned performer revealed that “Obasanjo prevented 100 trucks containers carrying approximately 1.5 million Chadians from entering Nigeria to Kaduna to vote APC.”
According to Charly Boy, the Nigerian elder statesman received a call from a junior immigration officer informing him that over 1.5 million Chadians were traveling to Kaduna State in over 100 trucks that had gained access to the Nigerian border. Obasanjo immediately responded and instructed his personal security officials to block all roads leading to Kaduna State, which led to the capturing of such trucks.
Furthermore, according to Charly Boy, the trucks’ license plates were missing, and the Chadians carrying Nigerian PVCs pretended not to understand English while ordering their rapid collection and destruction.
The singer finally revealed that Obasanjo immediately contacted the president of Chad, who denied knowing about the incident and said that the trucks and the Chadians had been told to return to their country.
