Super Eagles assistant coach, Daniel Ogunmodede says the team is focused on securing a place at the 2024 African Nations Championship.
Nigeria will host perennial rivals, Ghana in the second leg of the final qualifying round tie at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Saturday.
The first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium ended in a 0-0 draw.
Ogunmodede declared that his team is battle ready for the Ghanaians.
“We are doing everything to stay focused by avoiding any distractions. Yes, we got a scoreless draw in the first leg away and now playing at home, but we are not in any way carried away,” Ogunmodede said during the pre-match presser.
“Our objective was to score an away goal in Accra but that did not happen.”
“On Saturday, we will approach the game like our lives depend on it. Our watchword is getting the win that will qualify us for the African Nations Championship finals coming up in East Africa.”
The overall winner will secure a berth at the CHAN 2024 which will co-hosted by Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
