The President and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, Mr Olusegun Mojeed, has charged human resource managers in the country to prepare for the challenging times ahead.

The CIPM president stated this during the 54th Annual General Meeting held recently in Lagos.

Mojeed advised human resource managers not to be complacent as there were still significant and continuous demands for them to upgrade their skills and knowledge in people management.

He urged HR practitioners to make a conscious effort towards improving their capacity, considering the enormity of the upcoming tasks they will face.

Mojeed commended the members of the institute for their accomplishments in 2022 despite economic challenges.

He urged them to continue to evolve and meet the mandate, emphasising that CIPM remained focused on its strategic plans for 2022-2024, which centre around four interconnected pillars.

He said, “Regarding the ongoing election process that started earlier this month, he encouraged everyone to avoid being mere spectators and to actively contribute towards charting a more ambitious course of action for the institute.”

He urged them to join hands in elevating the standards of the HR profession, not just in the country but on the global stage as well.

Mojeed further pledged to work with all relevant persons within and beyond the confines of the institute to deliver desired results not only for the institute but for Nigerians at large.

He, however, acknowledged the collective efforts of members for the institute’s success and expressed his belief in them.

He expressed his optimism about the future and urged everyone to keep faith alive and work together to exceed expectations.
