Carlo Ancelotti does not have much sympathy for Bayern Munich’s complaints about the officiating in Real Madrid’s Champions League semi-final win on Wednesday night.

The Spanish side won a dramatic contest 2-1 thanks to two late goals from substitute Joselu, sending them into the final where they will take on Borussia Dortmund.

Bayern were thoroughly disappointed to lose the match, obviously, but also enraged over a late decision from the linesman to flag for a very tight offside.

Noussair Mazraoui was flagged offside before he nodded the ball down to Konrad Laimer, who found the back of the net, but Bayern felt the flag should not have been waved and VAR allowed to clear up the tight offside call.

The Real Madrid defenders and goalkeeper did pause after seeing the flag, so there is no guarantee that Laimer would have scored anyway, but Tuchel was fuming and the linesman admitted he was wrong, apologising to the Bayern boss.

Ancelotti was unmoved, though, pointing to a Real Madrid goal which he felt was wrongly ruled out for Nacho shoving Joshua Kimmich in the build-up

‘Bayern complained about the offside? Ok, so we complain about the cancelled goal of Nacho because Kimmich dived,’ said the veteran manager.

‘If they complain about that then we can complain about our goal that was disallowed. Both players were pushing each other and it’s Nacho who gets penalised.’

Tuchel was furious about the situation with the linesman, not helped by the fact the official apologised to him after the game.

‘They have a disastrous decision from the linesman and from the referee,’ said the German. ‘It feels almost like a betrayal in the end because of that decision. It was a huge fight, we left everything on the pitch, we were almost there. Now we have to say congratulations to Real Madrid.

‘The linesman said sorry, but that does not help on that kind of level. To raise the flag in a decision like this, a close decision in the last minute. And the referee as well, the referee does not have to whistle. He sees that we win the second ball, he sees that we get a shot away. To whistle is a very, very bad decision.

‘It’s against the rules and it’s a bad decision from both of them. It’s a disaster. Tough to swallow but that’s the way it is.’
