A call has gone to all newly-matriculated students in the nation’s tertiary institutions to ensure that they all have their letters of admission from the Board for the course they have been offered by their respective institutions as the Board would no longer condone any admission offered outside its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).

This was contained in the congratulatory message of the Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, to the matriculating students of Thomas Adewumi University, Oko, Kwara State.

The Registrar, who was represented by the Assistant Director, National Headquarters Annexe, Ilorin, Kwara State, Mr. Ganiyu Yahya, gave this charge at the institution’s 3rd Matriculation Ceremony, which was held recently at the premises of the institution.

“Admissions through CAPS remain the only authentic and recognised means of securing placement in the nation’s tertiary institutions. Any admissions done outside CAPS is not recognised and will pose serious challenges for students, who accept such sonner or later”.

He stated that students without JAMB letter of admission will not be mobilised for the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) Scheme at the end of their studies, which authomatically means that their labour  would be in vain.

He therefore, urged them to ensure that they not only have their institution’s admission letter but also that of JAMB as printed from CAPS to avoid future challenges.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francisca O. Oladipo, while addresing the new intakes, urged them to uphold the vision and mission of the institution, which according to her, is to provide excellent and suitable academic environment for the development and dissemination of knowledge for overall benefit of mankind.

Earlier in his address, the Registrar, Professor Is-haq  Oloyede, had congratulated the newly-admitted students on their good fortunes and  charged them to strive for excellence at all times.
