Cameron Boyce fans have seen a glimpse of the actor in his final film role as the trailer for teen thriller Runt has been released.

Boyce died at the age of 20 in 2019, with his cause of death later being revealed as a seizure as a result of his epilepsy.

The actor will play bullied teen Cal in the new movie, as he and his friend Cecily (Nicole Elizabeth Berger) turn to revenge to settle scores with their tormentors.

With no one to turn to, they spiral into a downward cycle of misguided violence.

The trailer shows Cal being tormented by bullies after he asks a classmate’s girlfriend to the school dance.

As the bullies continue to pick on him, he gets more and more desperate.

Last year, the actor’s parents spoke out about his death after setting up the Cameron Boyce Foundation to raise awareness around epilepsy, as well as continuing Cameron’s activism in the clean water crisis.

His mother Libby said that while she and his father Victor find ways to ‘honour’ Cameron to celebrate his life, dealing with their grief is ‘very, very hard’.

She said: ‘This is not something you get better from. is something that you learn to live with.

‘I feel as though I’m in a tunnel. The tunnel will always be there. I will never be out of the tunnel. So, if people say, “You come out the other side” — you do not come out the other side from this kind of a loss, ever.’

Boyce was best known for playing Carlos in the Disney film series Descendants, while he also starred as Luke Ross in the Disney Channel hit Jessie.

On the big screen, he played Keithie Feder in Grown Ups and its sequel alongside Adam Sandler.
