The suspect, Darrin Garcia, was apprehended by the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department at Kathleen McDonald High School in San Jose.
According to the police, Garcia is accused of maintaining a sexual relationship with a student from Santa Clara High School over a two-year period, from 2021 to 2023, while he was still employed as a teacher at the school. The authorities state that Garcia held multiple positions of authority, serving as the victim’s coach, sports mentor, and athletic director across various schools in Santa Clara County.
