LONDON — Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II has tested positive for Covid-19, Buckingham Palace said in a statement Sunday.
The royal, 95, “is experiencing mild cold-like symptoms but expects to continue light duties at Windsor over the coming week,” the statement said.
“She will continue to receive medical attention and will follow all the appropriate guidelines,” it added.
The announcement came a few weeks after the U.K.’s longest-reigning monarch celebrated her Platinum Jubilee of 70 years on the throne on Feb. 6.
Her son Prince Charles also tested positive for a second time less than two weeks ago.
