In a dramatic turn of events at Optical Illusions, a high-end optometry store located in San Ramon, California, employees bravely confronted a group of armed robbers during a brazen daylight robbery. The incident occurred on February 21, around 1:17 p.m., when four masked suspects stormed into the City Center store, attempting to steal valuable eyewear.

According to the San Ramon Police Department, the situation escalated quickly as three of the robbers began snatching glasses from display cases. However, store employees, including owner Dr. William To, quickly sprang into action to protect both a patient and another staff member present in the store. A physical altercation erupted, showcasing the employees’ courage and quick thinking in a life-threatening situation.

Dr. To revealed that he and his team were motivated by their desire to safeguard their patients and colleagues. “If they were just stealing eyewear, we might have let it go, but with weapons involved, we had to intervene,” he stated in an interview.
