For two nights and daylights the ibadan electricity distribution compan. IBEDC has thrown the residents of Akala Expressway,  Odo- Ona Elewe, Orita,  Ashipa  Elebu in Ibadan  Oyo State into total darkness.

These areas have over 500,000 population.

Up to the third day of writing this report the IBEDC has not restored light. The residents were in joyous  mood two days to Christmas Day when they were enjoying electricity 12 hours daily.  But at 1 pm on Christmas Day the light went off and still to be restored as at 3.45 pm on 27 December.

Residents are wondering at the turn of event. And no explanation has been given.  Mr Franklin has this to say: ” This is  pathetic and total embarrassment. Two of my children came home from Canada to celebrate the Christmas with us but see how they have not seen the light blinks for a second. Listen to our President on media chat when he advised Nigerians to be ecnomical in the  the usage of high cost of electricity by turning off the light. How do you turn off the light when there is blackout ..”

The newspot correspondent was at the office of IBEDC to make inquiries but met Skeletal staff. Senior officers were said to have gone for Christmas break.
