Some areas in Abuja the Nigeria Federal Capital Territory have been thrown into darkness in the past two days.

Mostly affected are Jabi, all estates in off Airport road  Gwarinpa and some areas leading to the central area.

The residents of these areas , said to be in Band A have been experiencing epileptic supply of electricity in the past two months and no official statement to give reasons for this development.

The newspot crew that went round said consumers were complaining that the Abuja Electricity Distribution   Company AEDC had compounded their misery during this economic strangulation.

Mrs Elizabeth Agbo has this to say: ” No light for two days which means you can’t freeze your food. And the one frozen had gone bad and one needs to go to the market on daily basis. We know how much we now buy foodstuffs . Prices are over 300 percent of what they were two years ago:”

Mr David Ekundayo lamented:” Why am I a Nigerian.  Everything seems to be upside down.on this country . They say we are in band A and  no light in the past two days.  And no one is explaining anything to us. This is too bad.

When newspot correspondent visited the AEDC office at Wuse Zone 4   there was no one senior to speak. One of the workers said their senior officials had gone for a crucial meeting at the Federal Secretariat.

Up to the time of filing this report at 8.45 pm light is yet to be restored.
