Belgium beat Canada 1-0 in World Cup opener

Belgium beat Canada 1- 0 on Wednesday in the match which was played at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium stadium, Al Rayyan city, Qatar.

Dominant Canada suffered frustrating defeat to Belgium as Michy Batshuayi took advantage of Alphonso Davies’ heartbreaking early penalty miss to score the only goal of the game.

Batshuayi struck in the 44th minute to see off Canada, who are in their first World Cup since 1986, and put Roberto Martinez’s team two points ahead of both Croatia and Morocco.
