Bauchi Emirate Council has revoked the turbaning of 55 traditional title holders, weeks after dismissing others for improper turbaning.

The decision, made during a council meeting at the Emir’s Palace, cited the lack of adherence to turbaning procedures as the reason behind the dismissal.

The affected title holders, turbanned by Hamlet Heads in Miri District Area, are those of Lushi Takololo, Yayire, Baram Gada ta Kasa, Wuntin Dada, and Sabon Birshi Gandu, all in Bauchi local government area.

Chief Information Officer of the council, Babangida Hassan Jahun, announced the reversal in a press statement issued on Friday.

The statement conveyed a warning to the Village Head, Muhammadu Lawal Ahmad of Birshi and the District Head Mal. Hussaini Abubakar Othman (Danjikan Bauchi) of Miri, urging them to ensure strict compliance with turbaning procedures to avoid sanctions.
