The police image maker stated that the DPO of Alagbado police station received a distress call about the attack on the hotel around 3 am on Monday.

A resident of the area, who pleaded anonymity while speaking with the Nigerian Tribune, stated that the arrival of the policemen prevented the robbery operation from being a very bloody one.

The Lagos police image maker said, “The DPO immediately led the patrol team to the scene to engage the armed robbers.”

“Subsequently, two of the armed robbers were arrested, and the following items were recovered from them: four locally-made pistols, one Toyota Corolla Saloon car, four expended ammunition, two Nokia phones, one Itel phone, one Techno phone, one jackknife, six ATM cards, three wrist watches, three female handbags, and a sum of fifty-four thousand naira.”

The Lagos police spokesperson also stated that “the robbers, numbering about nine, had injured two of the hotel lodgers before the policemen arrived at the scene.”

According to the police, “preliminary investigations revealed that the gang of armed robbers was nine in number and came into the area from Agbara.”

The injured victims of the robbery operation have been taken to the hospital, where they are receiving treatment.

Hundeyin, a superintendent of police, stated that investigations were ongoing to arrest the fleeing members of the gang.
