Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District of Niger State in the National Assembly, Alhaji Sani Musa has decried the killing of 20 villagers in Shiroro Local Government Area last Thursday by armed bandits.

It would be recalled that a total of 20 persons were purportedly slaughtered in the incident that occurred about six days ago in the area.

Musa, who stated this in Minna, described the act as not only wicked and callous, but a gross act of man’s inhumanity.

He said the deceased were slaughtered in cold blood by the bandits in an incident which took place in broad daylight.

The lawmaker added that the massacre is a heinous crime that is unacceptable and should be condemned by every peace loving person in the country.

He urged the government at all levels to do everything possible to bring the criminals to justice.

According to him, ” I condemn in very strong terms the recent massacre by bandits of honest and peace loving villagers in some communities in the Shiroro local government area of Niger State.

“To slaughter innocent villagers like goats taken to the altar for sacrifice is totally unacceptable, we should therefore do everything possible to bring these criminals to justice”.

The lawmaker then commiserated with those that lost loved ones as a result of the barbaric behaviour of the bandits and prayed to Allah to accept their souls.
