The Nigeria Police have promoted 160 police personnel in Zamfara State.

This follows their efforts to boost the morale and motivation of officers on the frontlines in the fight against insecurity in the state.

The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Dalijan, decorated the newly promoted police officers with their new ranks in Zamfara State.

While addressing the newly decorated officers on Friday at the State Police Command headquarters, the Commissioner of Police said the promotion was part of ongoing efforts to boost the morale and motivation of officers on the frontlines in the fight against insecurity in the state.

Dalijan explained that the promotion was not just a reward for past efforts, but also a call to double their efforts in police service in the face of ongoing security challenges.

“You should be very grateful that the police authority found you worthy to be promoted to the next level. This promotion is to change the way you do things, the way you think, the way you plan and operate—everything should reflect your new rank. To whom much is given, much is expected,” he added.

“We will give you new roles to play that will reflect your new rank. You have to pray hard because there are a lot of expectations. We expect better performance, and better crime-fighting strategies must be adopted for us to recognize that, yes, you are wearing new ranks.”

The commissioner, therefore, urged the newly promoted officers to redouble their efforts in tackling the menace of banditry, stressing that their new ranks come with increased responsibilities.

Newspot reports that 84 Assistant Superintendents of Police II (ASP II) were promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police I (ASP I), while 76 Inspectors were elevated to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police II (ASP II).
