French club AS Monaco appeared to aim a cheeky dig at Arsenal over their toothless attack after the Gunners’ 0-0 draw at Nottingham Forest.
The north Londoners dropped more points in the Premier League title race against Forest on at Wednesday to all-but end their top-flight trophy hopes.
Arsenal have recently struggled in attack amid an injury crisis, with Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli all ruled out and Mikel Arteta forced to deploy Mikel Merino as a makeshift striker.
Some pundits have questioned why Arsenal took a gamble in the January transfer window by not signing a new striker, with many feeling the Gunners needed fresh attacking options even before their wave of injuries.
With Arsenal struggling for goals, Monaco have pointed fun at the them on social media after signing their former forward Mika Biereth last month.
‘If you need goals call Mika Biereth,’ Monaco posted on the English language version of their X account on Wednesday.
An Arsenal fan, @AfcBilbo9, responded to the post, which has ranked up over 2.9k likes and 130.2k views, by asking: ‘Can we have him back please, we need a striker right now.’

Monaco whipped back: ‘We just signed him bro.’
Biereth joined Arsenal from Fulham in 2021 but the 22-year-old did not make a single senior appearance in his three-year spell at the Emirates.
Arsenal instead sent Biereth out on loan to Dutch club RKC Waalwijk, Scottish side Motherwell and then Austrian team SK Sturm Graz.

The Gunners decided to offload Biereth to Sturm Graz permanently last year – but after he hit form – Monaco took a punt on him in January, completing a €15m (£12.4m) deal for the Denmark youth international.
Since moving to Monaco, Biereth has massively impressed, registering seven goals across his opening nine matches for the club.
Biereth produced his second hat-trick in just five Ligue 1 games for Monaco earlier this month in the 7-1 victory over Nantes.

‘Admin you’re trolling,’ a second Arsenal fan, @AFCOllie49, responded to Monaco’s cheeky post.
AFTV, formerly known as ArsenalFanTV, posted a crying emoji and wrote: ‘Not now admin, please.’
‘How much in the summer,’ Arsenal supporter @beingblackie_ asked, suggesting the Gunners should make a bid at the end of the season.
Monaco’s account responded by saying that it would cost ‘a lot’ for Arsenal to bring Biereth back to the Emirates.
Biereth opened up about his Arsenal exit in an interview with FlashScore last year.
‘Of course, I’m sad to have left Arsenal,’ Biereth said. ‘It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world.’
