The Gunners have long been admirers of the Portugal international, although they are not the only club looking to bring in the 23-year-old winger.
With the transfer window having opened up this week, there are once again rumours that the north Londoners are plotting a bid for Neto.
According to latest reports in The Athletic, Arsenal still have ‘long-standing admiration’ for Neto but they do not expect Wolves to let him depart this month and there have not been any ‘recent overtures’.
It is thought that it could be a different story at the end of the season but Manchester City and other top clubs may fight Arsenal for his signature.
Neto has missed a large chunk of the 2023-24 campaign to a hamstring injury but has still registered an impressive nine goal involvements in 11 top-flight games.
He moved to the Premier League in 2019, joining Wolves from Portuguese side Braga, which he has also spent time out on loan at Lazio in Serie A.
Neto is under contract at Molineux until 2027 and there is no doubt that Wolves head coach Gary O’Neil will be keen to keep his star player at the club.
Wolves are thought to be interested in a loan deal for Arsenal star Reiss Nelson, though, which may help the Gunners in their quest to land Neto this summer.
Nelson has only featured nine times in the Premier League this term for a total of 100 minutes on the pitch.
