The Italian signed for Arsenal from Bologna over the summer and has already made a name for himself by scoring a stunning first goal for the club against Manchester City in the Premier League.
The full-back has not only started to impress on the pitch but also in interviews, well versed in English despite being just 22 years old.
The Italy international says he has already been learning for a number of years, unsurprisingly by watching shows in English, but also by listening to UK Drill.
The nice genre of music is only a decade or so old and originated in south London, but it found the ears of a young Calafiori and educated him in the process.
Speaking to the BBC’s Football Focus on how long he’s been learning English he said: ‘I don’t know, since I was a kid. I started maybe with Netflix and with the lyrics of songs, UK Drill.
‘Now I’m still learning, I want to have lessons, I want to improve a bit.’
The new arrival in north London is also coming round to British food, although clearly he had only heard bad things about it before he landed.
‘I expected worse, to be honest. It’s not so bad. Fish and chips is not bad. Once per month you can eat this,’ he said.
‘I want to feel the whole experience. Become an English person.’
Calafiori is also getting to grips with sarcasm in his new tongue, saying of London: ‘The weather is amazing, the main reason I came here!’
Calafiori scored against the champions in his first Premier League start for Arsenal, which greatly impressed his manager Mikel Arteta.
‘He was great,’ said the Gunners boss. ‘To have the first Premier League game in this context – chapeau. He’s got so much personality, so much energy. The quality that he has shown today, I was really impressed.’
