Arsenal have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Youri Tielemans with Leicester reportedly lining up a replacement for their influential midfielder.

Tielemans has been linked with a move away from the King Power for some time now and with his contract up at the end of the season, a January or next summer exit looks to be on the cards.

The Gunners are said to be leading the race for the Belgium international ahead of the likes of Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester United and Juventus.

And it seems that Leicester have resigned themselves to losing the 25-year-old who has played a significant part in their success of the last few seasons, that included back-to-back fifth place finishes in the league as well as an FA Cup triumph.

According to 90mins, the Foxes are one of several clubs keeping tabs on French midfielder Enzo Le Fee who has been starring for FC Lorient.

The 22-year-old already has 119 appearances to his name for his boyhood club, with two goals and two assists this season helping propel the side to fourth in Ligue 1.

Le Fee is also getting recognised at international level and was part of France’s Olympic team in 2021.

Valued at around £11million, Le Fee could prove to be the perfect replacement for Tielemans, but Leicester face plenty of competition for his signature.

Newcastle, West Ham and Fulham have all sent scouts to watch the player, while Dortmund, Real Sociedad and Lazio are also said to be monitoring his progress.

It remains to be seen if and when Arsenal will move for Tielemans given how much Mikel Arteta spent over the summer, in addition to the great form of their current midfield stars like Granit Xhaka.

Leicester may also choose not to cash-in on their midfielder yet, with Brendan Rodgers’ team languishing in 18th in the table after a dreadful start to the season.
