Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has jokingly sent a warning to his England teammate Kyle Walker over the Premier League title race.

On Monday, the Three Lions’ World Cup squad met up at their training base at St. George’s Park ahead of the flight to Qatar on Tuesday morning.

It of course means that those selected will have to put aside their differences at club level to come together for their country, not least Arsenal’s Saka and Manchester City’s Walker whose sides are fighting for the Premier League title.

Going into the World Cup break, the title race looks to be between the Gunners and the Citizens, with the former extending their lead over the latter to five points last weekend.

City’s shock defeat at home to Brentford, coupled with Arsenal’s win at Wolves means that the north London club will be top of the table at Christmas for the first since since 2007.

Arsenal’s success is unexpected, with Mikel Arteta’s side winning 12 of their 14 games so far, beating the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea along the way.

City will be hoping to reel in their rivals when the season resumes, though that will be tough if the Gunners maintain their great form, and Walker couldn’t help but jest with Saka about the matter.

Cameras at St. George’s Park captured the moment that the England squad met up, with Walker asking Saka: ‘Are you guys [Arsenal] going to stop winning?’

The young forward laughed and replied: ‘Don’t worry about that now bro! Are you feeling good?’

Walker was called-up by England despite still being in recovery from a groin injury he picked up at the start of October, and while he is not likely to be fit enough for the opening game against Iran this Monday, he should feature later on in the tournament.
