The Executive Council and members of the Secretary-General of the African Public Relations Association, APRA, the pan-African professional body, have condoled with all Kenyans in general over the recent crisis that happened in the country.

Newspot reported how Kenyans took to the streets to protest the government’s tax increment plan, saying it would increase their financial burden as many of them still struggle to get by.

A day after several protesters were shot dead, Kenyan President, William Ruto promised not to sign into law a finance bill proposing new taxes.

A statement signed by Dr Omoniyi Ibietan, the Secretary-General, APRA also said the body stands in solidarity with its colleagues in the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK).

“We urge the Government of Kenya to put the people of Kenya first and in a show of conversational capacity as already indicated by the Presidency, undertake stakeholder consultations with empathy and an openness to reconciliation,” the statement said.
