The Kaduna State Project Coordinator for the Agro-Processing Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support (APPEALS Project), Yahaya Aminu, has decried the significant challenges faced by ginger farmers during this year’s farming season in the state.

During the launch of the distribution of Seed, Agro-Chemicals, and Equipment to Ginger Farmers in Southern Kaduna, Aminu lamented that, “The plight of ginger farmers directly impacts both the state and the nation as a whole.”

He noted the notable rise in ginger production in previous years within the state but lamented that the presence of fungal infections this year has adversely affected almost all ginger farms.

Aminu appealed to ginger farmers to utilise the distributed seeds, agro-chemicals and equipment effectively.

The distribution encompassed 700 bags of ginger seeds, 205 cartons of agro-chemicals, and 85 sprayers.
