The Ogun State All Progressives Congress (APC) Local Government Congress Committee has warned members of the party against conducting parallel congress in the state on Saturday.

The Chairman of the five-member committee, Wale Ohu, disclosed this when the committee met with the local government congress electoral committee members, who would conduct the congress across the 20 local government areas of Ogun.

Ohu warned that the party would not hesitate to sanction anybody engaging in anti-party activities.

According to him, the list of the ward executive members were given to the committee by the from Abuja, saying the committee would work strictly according to the list.

“We have been sent from Abuja to strictly work according to the guidelines of the party and to strictly work according to the list of the executive members at the ward levels given to us from Abuja.

He threatened that the APC would not accept the result of a congress not conducted by the party secretariat.

“This is the only list approved by the national secretariat, anything aside from this is null and void.

“The party frowns seriously at anybody conducting parallel congress and we will not accept any congress conducted other than the one done by the recognised state party secretariat.”

Newspot recalls that the national secretariat of the party issued similar warning during the ward congress, but states like Ogun, Osun, Rivers, Kwara and others had parallel congress on July 31.
