The reinstated Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State, Emeka Beke, on Tuesday accused the party’s former Caretaker Committee Chairman, Tony Okocha, of playing the script of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, in the state.

Beke promised to stabilise the APC in the state following his reinstatement by the court.

Yesterday, the Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt had dismissed the APC seven-member Caretaker Committee led by Okocha.

The Okocha-led committee was appointed by the National Working Committee of the APC.

But, Justice Sika Aprioku, in a ruling on a suit filed by Sam Sam Etetegwung, Banarth Ezemoye, Ezekiel Ubom, and others on behalf of the APC executive in the state, reinstated the executive led by Beke as the legitimate leadership of the party in Rivers State.

Speaking on the court ruling, Beke maintained that Okocha was not a member of the APC.

Featuring on Arise TV morning Show, Beke said: “I have taken over the leadership of the party in the state and will ensure I stabilize the party.

“Tony Okocha is playing Wike’s script, he’s not a member of our party.

“My name is Emeka Beke, and I still remain the Chairman of APC in Rivers State, IPAC is meeting today and I will attend as chairman of the party.

“My position is that the governor should be allowed to govern and I will extend a hand of fellowship and an olive branch to all aggrieved members.”
