Health workers, under the aegis of Association of Radiographers of Nigeria, ARN, Anambra State Chapter, have described the victory of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo in the State’s guber election as well deserved.

Soludo emerged winner after garnering 112,229 votes to beat his closest rival, Valentine Ozigbo of the PDP who polled 53,807. All Progressives Congress, APC’s Andy Uba came third with 43,283 votes.

In a statement made available to journalists in Enugu, the Anambra State Chairman of the ARN, Comrade Ifeanyi Ozioko said the election was a true reflection of the will of the people.

He noted that despite the fear and tension prior to the election, “the people, full of enthusiasm still came out and made their choice.

“The result as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, is no doubt a true reflection of what transpired at the polls. It is a great improvement in the electronic process, especially electronic transmission of polling unit results, which has now killed off snatching of ballot boxes.

“Having said this, we say a big congratulations to Prof. Chukwuma Soludo. We at ARN felicitate with him on the well deserved victory.

“We are of the firm belief that Anambra has indeed found a solution in him. Now that he has been elected, he should close ranks and work with everybody, irrespective of political and religious divide to move Anambra State forward.

“The Governor-elect no doubt has the capacity and the experience to deliver on the mandate given to him by the good people of Anambra State,” he noted.

The ARN Chairman urged the candidates of the other political parties to accept the outcome of the polls, stressing “everyone cannot be governor at the same time. Let them bring their ideas to the table and join Soludo to take the state to another level.”

He added that “the successful conduct of the election left no one in doubt that the State is well secured, especially as Anambra plans to host the ARN national conference this month, beginning from 17-20th.”
