Amir Khan has accused Kell Brook of making racist remarks after his rival allegedly threatened to break his ‘poppadom chin’.

Khan and Brook have shared a bitter rivalry over the years that has raged for over a decade. They are set to finally settle the feud in Manchester on Saturday, with the loser facing the possibility of retirement.

The British rivals came face-to-face in a final press conference on Thursday where the war of words between the two resumed in full force.

But Khan, of British-Pakistani heritage, used the occasion to raise his frustration over a previous video interview from Brook that he felt crossed the line.

‘I saw a video that Kell did the other day where he said he was going to smash my ‘poppadom chin’, Khan said.

‘That sounded racist to me, I want to know why he said that.’

Explaining what he meant by the insult, Brook stated: ‘Everyone knows they’re very fragile, like your chin.’

Brook also demanded to know if Khan was calling him a racist. The Bolton fighter responded: ‘Yeah, the way you said that was really sad. You shouldn’t have said that.’

Earlier in the press conference, Khan labelled his old rival a ‘fanboy’, accusing the Sheffield fighter of spending his entire career obsessed with fighting him.

‘I am worried about Kell’s health after the beating I give him, it will be like something he has never felt before,’ Khan said.

‘I am going to put him in his place, after 10 years I will put him in his place.

‘He has been obsessed with me, a fanboy, I have been living in his head for so long I owe him rent.

‘But we have done enough talking now so I just want to get in the ring and do a job on him.’

Brook refused Khan’s offer of a handshake following their recent face-to-face on The Gloves Are Off, insisting he would shake after their showdown on Saturday.

But the former IBF welterweight champion suggested on Thursday that offer will be revoked if he knocks out his old foe.

‘If you stand and give the fans a good fight, I’ll give you [a handshake],’ Brook said.

‘But if you just go out and get chinned, I don’t think I’ll shake your hand.’
