The Gboleru Ruling House of Ikirun has written to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola over the contentious Akirun stool.
In the letter, the ruling house stressed the need to comply with the law and exercise restraint in installing Prince Olalekan Akadiri as the New Akirun of Ikirun.
In the letter, with reference number TSA1/181121/4, made available to Newspot on Monday, counsel to the royal family, T.S. Adegboyega referred the government to the pending appeal against the judgement of Justice Oyejide Falola and the application for the stay of execution of the said judgement.
He also referred to the prayer for injunction to restrain all parties from giving effect to the said judgement.
The Gboleru Ruling House, while urging the government to allow the law to take its full course, called for a stay of all actions relating to filing the vacant stool of the Akirun till the final determination of the case by the Akure Division of the Court of Appeal.
Recall that Newspot had reported that Gboleru Ruling House is next in line to produce the new Akinrun of Ikirun but Justice Falola of an Osun State High Court, sitting in Ikirun, had ruled on a suit before the court that since Gboleru ruling house was unable to settle for a candidate, the next ruling house after it should produce the new Akinrun.
Also, on Sunday November 21, Prince Olatunji Mudasiru, the head of the Gboleru Ruling House and other members of the family staged a protest where they demanded that the their family be allowed to produce the next Akinrun since it was their turn according to the rotational agreement.
Based on the judgement of Justice Oyejide Falola, the Osun State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has stated that it had commenced the process of installing Prince Olalekan Akadiri as the new Akinrun in compliance with the court order.
