Afe Babalola must breathe By Wale Ojo-Lanre

The majority of Nigerians seem to exhibit a form of willful ignorance; otherwise, they would not naively support Dele Farotimi in his reckless ,brutal and brazen criminal defamatory , deliberate and calculated damaging of the person , personality ,image and the entire entity of Chief Afe Babalola and the Supreme Court.

It is deeply troubling that an individual, ostensibly trained in the law, would intentionally, and without any measure of circumspection, employ defamatory language and level malicious, unsubstantiated allegations against Chief Afe Babalola, an eminent legal luminary, and the apex institution of Nigeria’s judiciary—the Supreme Court.

Far from stopping at mere verbal defamation, he escalated his actions by documenting, printing, publishing, and disseminating these spurious claims globally. In doing so, he not only sought to tarnish the image, reputation, and integrity of Chief Afe Babalola but also aimed to diminish the dignity and standing of notable, eminent jurists of the Supreme Court, reducing their contributions to the judiciary to global ridicule.

That some individuals would laud such actions as commendable is as perplexing as it is disheartening. This perspective reveals a troubling deficiency in their understanding of the principles of justice, the rule of law, and basic decency.

Furthermore, the outrage expressed by certain quarters over Chief Afe Babalola’s decision to seek redress—not through extrajudicial means but through the established judicial process—reflects a fundamental misunderstanding of his inherent and constitutional right to seek remedy under the law. Such criticism is not only unjustified but also indicative of a mindset that undermines the very tenets of justice and due process.
It is rather sad . The oppressive tendency of ignoramus group.
