Former Nigeria head coach, Sunday Oliseh, has named Senegal as the ‘disappointing team’ at the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Oliseh said this after Senegal qualified for the 2021 AFCON round of 16 on Tuesday.
Recall that Senegal played a 0-0 draw with Malawi on Tuesday evening to top Group B with five points.
The Lions of Teranga had defeated Zimbabwe 1-0 in their first game and drew 0-0 with Guinea in their second game.
Senegal had finished runner-up in the last AFCON edition in Egypt after losing to Algeria in the final.
But Oliseh believes Senegal’s performance at the 2021 AFCON is sad.
In a tweet via his Twitter handle after the game, Oliseh wrote: “Though on paper they seem to have the most highly-rated African players, on the pitch, I feel Senegal has been disappointing.
“Sad for them, but I feel one more motivational pointer for the Super Eagles #AFCON2021.”
