A Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State, has adjourned till Monday, the hearing of the formal application for stay of execution of its judgement, nullifying the October 15 local government election in the state, filed before it by the All Progressives Congress.
The court had last week Friday nullified the poll, citing non-compliance with the Electoral Act.
At the Friday sitting of the court, counsel for the APC, the applicant in the matter, Dr Abiodun Layoonu, made oral application for stay of execution of the judgement.
While addressing the court, counsel representing the Peoples Democratic Party, Hashim Abioye, said he had also filed a counter to the stay of execution by the applicant.
Abioye, however, urged the court to discountenance the oral application since a formal application had been filed for the same purpose.
In his ruling, Justice Nathaniel Ayo-Emmanuel adjourned hearing of the formal application for stay of execution of the judgement till Monday.
