The Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on Tuesday, led the campaign for the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, the House of Assembly and National Assembly candidates of the party, in four federal constituencies in the state.
A statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, obtained in Osogbo, said Adeleke, while addressing the crowd of party supporters at the various campaign grounds in Osun East and Central Senatorial Districts, told them to vote for the PDP candidates for good governance.
Adeleke who handed over the PDP flags to Senator Fadahunsi and other candidates in Osun East, declared that he was already delivering on good governance that would expand under an Atiku presidency.
He further said, “A vote for Atiku is a vote for new Nigeria, for true federalism, for economic restoration. A vote for the PDP is a continuation of the July 16 liberation from bad government.
“My people, extend ‘Imole’ to reach all legislative candidates and our presidential candidate. I urge you to complete the task you started last year July by ensuring the massive win for the PDP on Saturday.
“I however call for peaceful polls. I have directed security agencies to arrest hoodlums and thugs. I directed them to comb and empty all identifiable hideouts. Our government has zero tolerance for violence. Election is about choice and this should be done under peaceful conditions.”
