The Adamawa State All Progressives Congress, APC reconciliation committee, led by Senator Muhammed Mana, has assured that it would reclaim the state from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the 2027 elections.
Newspot reports that the state chapter has recently witnessed an internal crisis that led to factions in the party.
It was based on this that a reconciliation committee was set up to unite the party by the National Secretariat.
The eight-member reconciliation team included Senators Bello Tukur, Abubakar Girei, and Binta Masi, as well as Yusuf Buba Yakubu, Dr Bridget Zidon and Isa Baba.
Addressing journalists after a closed-door meeting on Thursday evening at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, Mana who is the chairman of the committee said the team has a task given to it by the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to resolve internal disputes and unify members.
The committee plans to start its efforts immediately by engaging party members at the unit, ward, and local government levels.
Mana noted that the committee would focus on engaging aggrieved members, rebuilding grassroots connections, and strengthening the party’s structure.
He said: “Adamawa has been a very critical APC state, and we want to make sure that the state goes back to its former position. Now we will go back and tell everybody in the state that it’s time to unite.
“You know, our crisis started from the primary election, the general election. Those people who lost the election, those people who think that they were not properly rewarded for their contribution to the state.
“We want to go and beg them and make sure that the party is unified under the banner of the broom of APC generally, and the national chairman has charged us to go and discharge the duty
“Apart from appealing to our party members, we will go down to the grassroots, to the unit level, to the local government level, to the ward level, to ensure that everybody comes along and joins the group,” Mana said.
“Our goal is to create a platform for unity and prepare the next generation of leaders,” Mana said.
