The All Progressive Congress (APC) primary election for the Arochukwu, Ohafia Federal Constituency has been postponed indefinitely.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had representation but materials did not arrive as of late Friday.
The Returning Officer, Tony Onyeanwuala confirmed that the election did not hold.
Onyeanwuala feared that an imposter carted away the materials for the poll to an unknown destination.
The party official however assured the constituents that the exercise would hold on a later date.
The aspirants, Mary Ikoku, Daniel Imoh, Iroh Orji urged the APC in Abia to urgently act on the development.
Ikoku warned against any attempt to scuttle the process and the party’s chances.
“Only a free, fair and credible primary will produce a popular candidate that will win the 2023 House of Representatives election on the APC platform”, she said.
