Abia 2023: Ogah of Labour Party floors Onyejiocha for House of Reps position

The House of Representatives flagbearer of the Labour Party for Isiuakwato/Umunneochi federal constituency Abia state, Amobi Godwin Ogah has defeated fellow contestants in a keenly- contested election.

the candidate of the All Progressives Congress and Deputy Chief Whip of the lower chamber of the Nigerian national assembly, at a keenly- contested and concluded election by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Saturday.

While announcing the results, the INEC Returning officer, Nneoma Nnochiri the Labour Party candidate, Amobi Ogah polled a total of 11,769 votes to defeat current 4th-term federal lawmaker, Nkeiruka Onyejiocha Chidubem who scored a total of 8,752, and the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Ofoegbu Loveth who also scored 6,760 votes cast to emerge third position.

She said, “I, Barrister (Mrs) Nneoma Nnochiri hereby certify that am the returning officer for the 2023 Isiuakwato/Umunneochi federal constituency election held on the 26th of February 2023.

“That Ogah Amobi of the Labour Party having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared winner of the Isiuakwato/Umunneochi federal constituency election”.
