A VEHICLE ALLEGEDLY IN REMI TINUBU’S CONVOY KILLS SEVEN YEAR OLD GIRL

A vehicle alleged to be in  the convoy of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, has  knocked down and killed a seven-year-old girl named Saratu Lawal in Akure, Ondo State.

This incident according to eyewitness accounts narrated how the First Lady, Remi Tinubu was in the state to launch the South-West phase of the Renewed Hope Initiative, a federal programme designed to enhance the welfare of women and girls throughout the nation.

At the event, over 10,000 professional kits were distributed to nurses and midwives across the region.

The accident occurred around the Oba Ile area while the convoy was making its way from Akure Airport to the venue of the programme. According to sources, an alleged butter-coloured Hilux from the motorcade struck the young girl.

“A seven-year-old girl by the name Saratu Lawal, a pupil of Islamiyar Arabic School, Shasha, was knocked down by a butter-coloured Hilux seen to be in the government convoy of Her Excellency, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is on an official visit to Ondo State,” one source reported.

The source further indicated that the accident took place near the Oba Ile Central Mosque on Thursday morning. “It claimed the life of the child as every effort to save her could not yield the desired result even when she was rushed to the primary healthcare in Oba Ile,” they added.
