A Farmer Recounts How He Lost His Wife and Six Children in One Day.

A farmer, Mustapha Abubakar from Buhari village, has narrated his harrowing spectacle hoe Nigerian military airstrike killed scores of people in Buhari village in Yobe State on September 16, 2021. Mustapha Abubakar who was one of victims of the attack revealed that he was in the market when the Nigerian military aircraft bombarded thier community and his family members which included his wife and six children who were at home .

He noted that immediately he saw the aircraft in the air, he quickly hid somewhere because he thought it was Boko Haram insurgents and he didn’t want to die. However, few minutes later, he heard a loud voice from the Nigerian military aircraft when he struck their village. After a while, he noted that he quickly called one of his relatives to help him check his family members at home and when the person confirmed, he told him that the airstrike had wiped out all his family members. Abubakar while speaking during the interview with Trust TV said, “As I was hiding I heard the loud sound of the military airstrike that killed my 6 children.”

While continuing speaking, “I can still remember very well, it was on a Friday that the unfortunate incident happened. I was in the market when we heard a loud sound. We all thought it was Boko Haram so we ran for safety to avoid being sighted. When things calmed down, I called a relative who lived close to my house who told me that my wife and my six children are all dead. It’s a day that I can never forget in my life.”
