Addressing the Corps Members, Governor Adeleke urged them to remain law-abiding and avoid actions capable of undermining national unity and democratic values. He particularly cautioned them against engaging in activities that could compromise the credibility of the forthcoming Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.

“As Corps Members who may be engaged as ad-hoc personnel during the election, you are expected to remain apolitical, professional and committed to the principles of free, fair and credible elections,” he stated.

The Governor further encouraged the Corps Members to embrace cultural diversity, promote peaceful coexistence, and foster national integration. He described Osun as a peaceful and hospitable State, assuring them of the government’s continued commitment to their welfare and security throughout the service year.

Earlier in his introductory address, the NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mr. Ekeng Ita Kubiangha, welcomed the Corps Members and challenged them to take full advantage of the opportunities provided by the Scheme for personal growth, self-reliance, and national development.
Kubiangha noted that the Orientation Course was designed to equip participants with the physical, mental, and leadership skills required for a successful service year. He highlighted the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme as a vital platform for economic empowerment and self-employment.

Kubiangha urged the Corps Members to distinguish themselves through diligence, discipline, patriotism, and active participation in community development initiatives, stressing that outstanding performance would be recognised through various honours, including the State Coordinator’s Commendation Award, Chairman’s Award, State Honours Award, and Presidential Award.

He also reminded them of their responsibilities as potential electoral Officers during the forthcoming gubernatorial election, advising them to uphold neutrality, professionalism, and respect for the rule of law.

The Swearing-in Ceremony was conducted by the Chief Judge of Osun State, Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo, represented by Hon. Justice Adedapo Oluwagbenga Adeniji, who administered the NYSC Oath of Allegiance and National Pledge on the Corps Members. Representatives of the ten platoons subsequently signed the sample oath form on behalf of their colleagues, pledging loyalty and commitment to national service.

Also present at the Ceremony were members of the NYSC State Governing Board, government officials, traditional rulers, security chiefs, representatives of sister agencies, and other distinguished guests.

The Ceremony culminated in the formal declaration of the 2026 Batch B Stream I Orientation Course open, with renewed calls on Corps Members to serve as worthy ambassadors of Nigeria and contribute meaningfully to national development.

The State Coordinator took dignitaries on an inspection of Camp facilities after the Ceremony.
